Dina is a physical therapist and a certified Iyengar yoga teacher. Her career has been full and quite eclectic - she has worked in a variety of orthopedic settings providing physical therapy services and teaching yoga to people of all ages. After seven years of practice, in 1993, she completed an advanced master's degree in orthopedic manual therapy to further develop her skills, knowledge and wisdom in working with her patients. Then, she ran away and joined the circus - literally! For 8 years she worked with Cirque Du Soleil providing care to the performers of Mystere, “O” and Zumanity.
She eventually returned to San Diego to continue her practice here - after several trips to India to study yoga she began teaching and integrating yoga into her work more. In 2013 she achieved her certification as an Iyengar yoga teacher.
All of these professional and life experiences have lead her to appreciate excellence in education and training and, equally as important, finding creative ways to blend her tools for the best outcome of the patient in front of her.
Currently, Dina works part-time at Sharp Rees Stealy treating patients and teaching the yoga program she developed. She appreciates her role in a traditional medical setting where she can bring and share her diverse background and experience.
The Scoliosis Program is also taking shape as Dina is now certified in both the SEAS and Schroth Methods for scoliosis.
When needed - integration of Iyengar yoga is also explored.
The rest of her week she works with clients providing physical therapy, wellness, yoga and teaching workshops via Chalom Physical Therapy and Wellness.
